Marksheet matters

Cricketers are not always in form and score good runs. Even Sachin is a master of the cricket but he failed in some matchs with single digit score. I too fall into that category. I never scored good always and was had ups and down. It happens in cricket and also in my ... mark sheet. I came running home to tell my Mom that I got 80/100 in Tamil exam in the first mid-term test. That was happy moment at home. I thought I will never go out of form. Next day, I got my science marks. It is 32/100. Pass mark is 40/100. Gone. I did not get the rank that time as well. I am not weak in one subject but in all of them especially English. I never knew the grammar till I took French as my second language at my 9th grade instead of continuing Tamil. They taught us the basic grammar lessons in French and the English counterpart. I was lucky enough to understand and learn both together. Well, why did I go out of Tamil? It is my mother tongue and father is a Tamil writer. Maybe, I wanted to pass atle...

Outstanding player

My school was a place of many sports and games but limited to a level. One day I choose to play vollyball after my school and I had a cycle so I can go home anytime I wanted to. School ground is few meters away from my main school building. When I went there, there is a big crowd waiting to play vollyball... So many students waiting to play vollyball ? I do not know to play vollyball and not sure of the rules. I just like that decided to play it because ... okay fine .. playing ... My school ends at 4:15 and usually be at home in 30 mins after a chit chat outside my school with few known friends of mine. That day I was in the ground instead waiting to play vollyball. Another classmate of mine was there as well. He regularly comes to play, I mean watch the game. He never played any real game till now. He laughed at me telling 'Do you think, you are going to play today? Look, we are before you waiting for months already'. Seriously ?? Okay. I waited for long time and after sunset...

Sunrise

I went to see sunrise on a Saturday morning. As usual, it is race against time. Reason is we started late from home. But good thing is we won. Here are some of the clicks made from my normal camera.

ice cream

I remeber one incident when my father had Lampy scooter and we went to an ice cream shop. I was excited to have mango flavour icecream in stick (sorry, dont know what it is called). I did not complete that fully and was sick immediately having that for few days. It was one of horrible fever days I had. I never had ice cream again. I cannot express why I cannot have though. I tried to have it few times but did not like the taste and mentally not prepared. Never knew if I will have it again. Maybe, yes.

Short notes

I would like to keep this blog short. I suppose I could write these things. River Yamuna is virtually not useful. We visited the holy river in our journey to Delhi and nearby places and went to a boat ride. No one knew Hindi much but can understand and talk a little. My father ranked last in that. He wanted to ask the boat man a question and this was his sentence. ' Yamuna ka mixing sakadai ?' This means 'does Yamuna mixed with drainage?' By the way even I cant translate them to Hindi. No language is needed to tell the fate of Yamuna.

Home Work

My home in Madras was my grandfather's. I could say my home is 'open house'. Anyone looking the house from outside can tell how many doors and windows the house have. It is a two floor house with an open passage in between and rooms on the either side. The staircase to the first floor 2 rooms is outside. If my mother was asked to manage the house, she will be having 9 to 10 keys with her. Not the locker keys but the door keys. That is not the case. My grandfather is the 'key man' and he kept the keys near the window which anyone can take. I am not going to tell more on this, my actual story is below. My story goes back to 4th or 5 th standard. One of the doors in the house lead to 'dinning hall' because it had the dinning table. This is a place where I put all my books around and do my home work. What is that home work. I never understood anything. I was asked to copy whatever is there in the book to my note. Actually, I was writing a new book. My sister is ...
